'The Search'- Sydney's best Macaroon

My first blogging project. The Search for Sydneys best Macaroon! This is going to be fun and full of flavour. Join me on my journey around sydney looking for the perfect pillow of sweetness.

Im sure some of you have never tasted a Macaroon let alone know what they are, I myself a self confessed food fanatic only tried my first one a mer 3 days ago. Dating back to 791 in a convent in Cormery France was created a sweet composed of two almond meringue disks filled with a layer of buttercream, jam, or ganache filling. HEAVEN! The Perfect macaroon should be slightly crisp on the outside then followed by a chewy inner layer and then a creamy not to sweet filling.

So the search is on. I have compiled a list of Bakeries, Patisseries, Cafes and Food Stores that I will be visiting over the coming weeks.

  • Adriano Zumbo-Balmain
  • La Renaissance - The Rocks
  • Lindt Cafe - Martin Place
  • A la Belle Epoque - Kings Cross
  • Black Star Pastry - Newtown
  • Cupcakes on Pitt - City
  • David Jones - City
Im Sure there are many more places to add to the list and suggestions on places you love would be appreciated.

Tomorrow it all starts Black Star Pastry, here I come.
